Game UI

Menus and HUDs with the UI Designer and the Skin Creator.

UI Designer

Tools → UI Designer builds menus and HUDs: panels, text, buttons, images, progress bars (health, loading), sliders and checkboxes on a 1280×720 canvas that scales to the screen.

  • Anchors pin elements to corners, edges or the center.
  • Panels can contain other elements.
  • Drag elements to move and resize them.
  • A button can show, hide or toggle another element, or stop the game, without code.

Scripts talk to the UI with button_clicked("Name"), set_text("Name", value), show_ui, hide_ui, set_value("Health", 0.5) and get_value("Volume"), and logic graphs with the Set/Get UI Value nodes.

Skin Creator

Tools → Skin Creator draws the images for your UI. It has 16 templates (button, panel, window, tab, dropdown, text field, speech bubble, inventory slot, health bar, toggle, slider, checkbox, badge, arrow…), palettes and shapes (rounded with any corner radius, pill, circle, diamond, hexagon, chamfer, arrow, triangle, star, tab).

Fill with a flat color, a linear gradient at any angle or a radial one, or patterns (stripes, dots, grain, lines), and add a border, shine, bevel, inner shadow, glow and drop shadow. Layers go on top, each with its own shape, margins, fill, border and opacity.

Save a button’s states (hover, pressed, disabled) and the game uses them by itself.
