Building worlds

Play mode and physics

Play, pause and stop; physics bodies, players, cameras and triggers.

Play, Pause, Stop

Play (Alt+P) brings the scene to life without touching what’s saved. Pause freezes time and Stop (Esc) puts everything back exactly as it was.

Physics

Give an object physics in Details:

  • Body: static, simulated or kinematic.
  • Collision: automatic, box, sphere, capsule, cylinder or mesh.
  • Settings: mass, friction, bounciness, damping, gravity, locked rotation and starting velocity.

Visible objects without physics act as walls. View → Collision shows the collision shapes.

Players

The Player can be first person or third person (with a camera behind it that doesn’t go through walls). Click the viewport to control it: WASD, the mouse, Shift to run and Space to jump. Shift+F1 frees the mouse.

Cameras

A camera marked as active is the game’s view when there’s no player.

Triggers

With Is Trigger, an object becomes a zone nothing collides with, but that reports what enters and leaves (like in Unity, only when one of the two moves). Hidden in Game keeps a mesh visible in the editor but hides it while playing.

Simple movement

The Movement component spins and floats objects without any code.

Play outside the editor

File → Play Standalone opens the scene in its own window, without the editor, like a real game (Esc opens a menu with Resume, Restart and Quit).
